Roman Britain (Usborne British History) book cover

Roman Britain (Usborne British History)

Ruth Brocklehurst · Ages 8–12 yrs · Usborne
Highly recommended for KS2 — covers invasion, Boudica, roads, bath houses and Hadrian's Wall in 62 comprehensive pages.
Our full review

This well-bound A5 book provides a comprehensive introduction to a wide range of topics, focusing on the Romans in Britain and the effect they had on this island. It covers the invasion under Julius Caesar and then Claudius, the resistance of Caractacus, the revolt under Boudica, Roman roads, towns, bath houses, fashions and sports, Christianity, and the building of Hadrian's Wall. Far more advanced than the Usborne Beginners series.
